curtains with trim

The decor that's been on my mind lately is curtains! Our new apartment is going to have 9ft ceilings which means the curtains I have now aren't going to work. That's one of my pet peeves, curtains that look like capris! lol I love when curtains touch the floor, it's so elegant!

One of my ideas is to buy sheer or white curtains and add trim. Here are two of my favorites!

DIY modern fringed curtains

I love the dark contrast between the black tassel trim & the white flowly curtains. I love the modern vibe it gives! The cherry yellow pom pom trim is also too cute!! Still debating.... :)

Have you ever tried tassel or pom pom trim?

glass table-top dining!

Let's talk dining room tables! I LOVE pedestal tables. There is just something about them that I adore! My husband & I recently discovered that he liked glass-top tables. We thought it would be awesome if we could combine the two together. An extra extra added bonus is that having a glass-top dining table in our apartment is going to be super awesome because it is going to look light & airy, not taking up much space. While I was on Craigslist {again! haha} I found this beauty:

Imagine her in a coat of white glossy paint with a beautiful round glass-top! Are ya with me!? :D We called & picked her up yesterday! I can't wait to get to work on her! Here are a few examples of glass-top dining tables:

setting the table for spring & summer!

While we were in the Bahamas {a few weeks ago!!}, we were in a store that I adored! I don't remember the name of it. There was a table setting that I loooved! I was going to take a picture of it, but it was so simple I told myself that I didn't need a picture. WRONG! lol I remember a few details. A white table cloth, bamboo chargers, aqua silverware, goblets, seashells & starfish... that's about it. I don't remember the centerpiece, what the table settings looked like together, etc. which lead me to googling summer table settings.

TA-DA... Enjoy!

{twine around mason jars... love it!}

{adore this idea for centerpieces... save your canned food! }

{this looks very similiar, except with plain white plates, minus the red starfish}

fabric ideas for master bedroom

I really wish I had a picture of our bedroom right now so you could get the full picture. Here is the corner of our bedroom without any furniture. At least you can see the paint color which is a light gray. Anyhoo, I'm trying to figure out what type of curtains I want in there.

I'm always drawn to blues & greens. As you can see in our living room, the curtains I made are blue & green thanks to Young House Love for their inspiration!!

The headboard we have is oak with detailing (sorry I'm not much help!) I will try to post a picture soon. Our bedding is all white. My vision is to get a turquoise side table, and really play up the color in the pillows or curtains and decor.

I think it may be cool to do a black & white pinstripe curtain.

This is the picture I got that idea from, the dining room chairs! I love getting inspiration in odd places! lol So picture, the oak headboard {that you have no idea what it looks like lol}, a turquoise night stand, black & white pinstripe curtains, & some colorful books on the night stand with peonies in a pretty vase. What do ya think? The amazing thing about this fabric is that it's only $6.98 a yard! I need 9 yards of fabric, with a coupon, I could easily get 4 panels for under $50! =)

I recently spotted this fabric on a window treatment & fell in love!! Then I spotted the price tag... $13.98 a yard. Not bad when you don't need a lot of fabric... but when you need 9 yards, that's too expensive for me =(

I then spotted this sort-of-fabric-look-a-like by Amy Butler for $8 a yard. Still not so sure about it though.

This fabric would definitely be different for me! I like it. I would just be a little scared that it would look too "teenagerish" haha. Cute though!!

I REALLY like this fabric by Amy Butler! I'm not too sure what the hubs would say about it though lol. I really don't think he would mind that much because it does have other colors besides pink ;) It is back ordered until the end of March, but I certainly don't have a problem with that because I won't be ordering these anytime soon, it's just fun to plan & know what I want when I do have the moolah!

baskets

Lately, I'm loving basket lighting. I love the beachy vibe it gives off & it adds so much texture to a room. Here are a few of my favorites.

soft & soothing or vibrant & bright?

As I talked about in my last post, I was planning on doing Benjamin Moore's Waterfall in the laundry room {pictured below}. It's a beautiful color. But I'm thinking about going another color now.

The color I'm now thinking about doing is a soft green color. It's called Goal Post by Ralph Lauren. It's very similar to this color below. What can I say? I'm a girl who likes soft colors. Other than liking the paint color in the photo below, I heart everything else as well. Our laundry room is going to be small-- just enough to place shelving on the wall and bringing laundry baskets in & out.

Here is another laundry room painted in a soft green.

The laundry room is still a work in progress. After all of the walls are primed, I'll narrow down my colors & see where that takes me. There isn't going to be a window, so that is definitely going to effect the paint color I choose.

& of course, there are more beautiful pictures of laundry rooms.... {in soft colors =)} Can't wait to share the progress! All I have now is before pictures... but stay tuned! =)
