Christmas lights at the beach

You all may think this is strange {like my husband} haha but I loooove the Christmas decorations here in VA Beach! I tried to get a picture of all of them. My husband was getting embarrassed haha, he told me to stop acting like a tourist! ;) I only talked him into taking 2 pictures for me with the lights {lol}. But really, how many times in your life are going to live in a place where you can take a picture of Santa Clause in Christmas lights next to a palm tree? =)

I wanted to re-take the picture so you can actually see me, but the husband thought I was being silly, one was enough he said! haha

That's all I got, I love em!!
p.s. the water was freeeeeezing!! I stuck my toe in it! hehe

think navy!

I'm thinking about painting our bedroom navy! At fist I was going to have lots of navy accents, but I changed my mind. I'm trying to get everything lined up before I paint. Our bedding is solid white. Our bedroom furniture is cherry wood. That's all I have so far ;) I would like to find a nice vintage chandelier, hopefully that will be my next step. I really tried to dig deep to find navy rooms with dark furniture. Here's what I came up with--- Enjoy!

p.s. laundry room is finished (just need to decorate!) living room is almost done (pics to come!)

House Beautiful?

overall update on house!

I'm dreaming of a beautiful living space like the one below!

We just bought this flush mount chandelier for the kitchen!

This is our laundry room, along with my hubs (wink!) that he built for me. He's pretty sweet! It definitely isn't finished yet (as you can see lol). We are hoping it will be finished within the next month. Hoping. I have been stumped on what color to paint the laundry room. It's small, so I really want to utilize storage. I'm going to have one or two floating shelves.

Do you remember when I bought this chandelier originally for the bedroom? But it was too small, so Cal suggested that I use it for the laundry room (I knew I married him for a reason! haha)

I was browsing the Internet when I came across this beauty of a picture!

I love turquoise. That chandelier looks very similar to my chandelier. As I was at work (ever have those moments? lol), it dawned on me, I should mimic this room for my laundry room! Hooray! So, I'm going to paint the middle wall True Turquoise by Glidden (the same color as my open shelving in the kitchen) and the other two walls white with my chandelier as the lighting.

contemporary ranch style home

This is one of the cutest houses ever! Would you guess that it was a ranch style home? I love the contemporary, minimalist, neutralness (a new word haha!), with pops of color!

seascape paintings

On the wall beside of our bed, I want to have a collection of seascape paintings/prints. So far I have two. I recently purchased this vintage print from Etsy. It's from the 1940s-1950s, love it.

Here are some of my favorite photo walls:

update!

Wow! So it's been too long since I have updated!! Let's see . . .

* the kitchen

it is finally almost finished!! I will be sure to add pictures later this week! Have you ever heard the saying "The kitchen is the heart of the home?" Well, it definitely is true! Cal & I haven't had a functioning kitchen since we moved from Kentucky (right around 6 months). It's been crazy hectic. But finally, we are in the home stretch! I told Cal that I wanted to sleep in the kitchen it's so nice! haha

* the living room

it is getting there also! I made curtains, I will have to sure that with you as well. We are in the process of adding a dresser & using it as a buffet. I still need to get floating shelves and picture frames, throw pillows, rug, coffee table, etc.

* master bedroom
slowly but surely getting there! I've bought a duvet and white duvet cover, white bedskirt, and a cute golden ruffle round pillow--- adorable!! Next on the list is navy curtains.

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't disappeared! I have tons of updates to share with you this week! stay tuned!

navy!

I'm still undecided when it comes to the master bedroom. Now, I'm thinking about navy! That would leave me with light gray walls and navy, brown, and gold accents. What do ya think? =) Even though I do change my mind a bizillion times, the good thing is that I don't buy something until I am 100% positive that I will love it for at least 2 years! I say at least 2 years because my husband said, "We just bought the comforter we have!" It has almost been 2 years! Ladies, that's a long time, right? =)

Example: Whenever I bought my capiz chandelier 3 years ago, my husband was so nervous that I would end up ditching it a month later. Now, I still love it & I'm even condsidering buying another one! =) Okay, on to the gorgeous photos!
