anthro lovin'

Have you ever been to Anthropologie? I haven't! The closest store location in around 2 hours or so away. I'm sure it would be well worth the trip!

This rug is beeeeautiful! I would put it in the kitchen in front of the sink. It's so bright & cheery! The $149 price tag is pretty pricey {& that's on sale!} Though, it would be a wonderful investment if you have the moolah! hehe

I love these bowls! They are $8 each. I think they would be beautiful on my open shelving in the kitchen. Too cute! I may have to watch my e-mail for a free shipping coupon soon... =)

I love turquoise & white... put them together in a room with a sparkly chandelier... be still my heart! =) I've posted the first two pictures before, but I can't seem to get enough of them!

surrender

I stumbled upon this quote in October or November 2010 & it hit me like a ton of bricks. My husband was sitting beside me and looked over at the computer, then back at me and smiled. It's so crazy how we hold on to things. Actually, it's not really crazy. It's just our human nature. We hold on to the way we think our life should go, sort of forcing it in the direction we are going. But God created us.... so of course His way is so much more amazing & peaceful! Once we surrender, we feel so much freedom.

"There is freedom in surrender!"
~Kari Jobe

I promise, God has amazing things planned waiting on us. First, we must let go of our plans. Of course it will be scary, but amazingly abundantly worth it!! Once we surrender and we stop planning & let God guide us, we will then know what it feels like to truly live.

* Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. *
~Jeremiah 33:3~

dream kitchen

This is my ultimate dream kitchen. Light blue walls, white cabinetry, cherry floors and island, pink flowers... *sigh* I have no idea who the kitchen belongs to, let me know if you know. Enjoy!

This is definitely a gorgeous house! Although, the octopus picture is kinda freaky. Okay, it is freaky haha. I found it online and it's $3,000! Crazy!

Enjoy!

You can also go here http://thecrossdesign.com/ and find almost everything in the above pictures to purchase. Let me warn you though, very pricey!

house updates

I'm back with some house updates!

Whenever I was home for Thanksgiving I discovered this treasure in mom's attic. It was love at first sight. I asked her if I could have it and she graciously agreed =) It was my great grandfather's. I need to e-mail my aunt & ask her what it was particularly used for and what year it's from. Can't wait!

Please excuse my unfinished baseboards. That is on the due to list for the kitchen! =)

This is a peek into our living room. The little blue/turquoise bird you see sitting on top of the books, I bought at the dollar tree store and spray painted it. You will come to know that I'm in love with this color of spray paint... seriously! The basket and tray are thrift store finds.

Here is my business cards for Contemporary Cottage Designs-- love them! This is only the back of the card. Love the seashell too. I bought it for .25! =)

The other side of the buffet. I love purplish pink and gray together.

Do you spot the the candlesticks? They were brass {thrift store find} & I spray painted them with the color I'm in love with! haha Thanks so much Aunt Mary for the idea! I love it!

same spray paint haha These birds are actually salt & pepper shakers. I bought them at Pier 1 for--- $3.00 for the pair! The birds are sitting on my black open shelving in the kitchen. My white Correlle dishes are to the right of them.

If you haven't noticed, we re-painted the kitchen and living room the same shade of gray.

Whenever I bought this basket I loved it. {thrift store find} That was when we thought we were going to do with black or white counter tops. Once we had the butcher block counter top installed, the basket sort of got lost and blended in the the counter tops. So.....

I spray painted it! :c)

Yes... I spray painted this bottle the same color as well. {thrift store find}

Here is a another peek of our living room! Do you spot the bottle on the shelf? I plan on buying another shelf and placing it underneath so I can put more pictures up.

FYI: I bought all of the frames at thrift stores & spray painted them glossy black. I bought six frames for less than $3. Check your local Habitat. On Saturday & Sunday everything is 50% off and Clothes are $1 in my area.

For the picture mats, I cheated ;) I bought a piece of poster board for .99 and cut it out to fit the picture frame & simply taped the picture to the middle of the frame. Easy peasy! Since the frames are up high, nobody would ever know. Gotta love it.

How do you like the curtains I made? Thanks to Young House Love for spotting them first & giving a tutorial on how to make them without sewing!

The buffet also still needs hardware. We have it, just haven't installed it yet.
I definitely need to show some before pictures of the livng room. To be continued!
