Contemporary Cottage Designs

I have a little secret I have been keeping . . . I am opening up a furniture refinishing business called Contemporary Cottage Designs-- website coming soon! I recently finished my first piece-- a vintage dining table set. It includes 4 chairs, 2 arm chairs, leaf, & table. Chairs are upholstered with light gray cotton duck fabric (very durable). It is $460. If you are in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Chesapeake area and you are interested... e-mail me at princesscrownsandpearls @ hotmail dot com =)

baskets

Lately, I'm loving basket lighting. I love the beachy vibe it gives off & it adds so much texture to a room. Here are a few of my favorites.

Have you ever studied a room?

There are so many things in this room I want to study-- from the headboard, aqua lamps, sunburst mirror, gray/blue paint color, green pouf, ghost chair . . . I heart it all.

bubbles

With all of this heat & humidity, it's been making me think of cool, light rain. The type of rain that lightly "mists" you, but doesn't leave you cold--- which made me think about cute umbrellas. : ) These three umbrellas are my favorites. I like the first & second one the best because it's a bubble which makes you more protected from the rain. You actually go inside of it =) The third umbrella is super cute as well. It's large enough so you would be more protected from the rain than your average automatic umbrella. Out of all of them, the polka dot is my favorite! What's yours?

photos to inspire

My husband has been getting onto me about "overloading" his computer with my pictures haha. My jump drive is completely full. This means that you all get to see a little eye candy, enjoy!

I read in Cottage Living that this chandelier is the real deal-- vintage, gorgeous!

I love the way the white chandelier stands out against the navy blue walls!

I never thought I was the zebra print kinda girl, but I find myself liking zebra rugs. I like the splash of unexpectancy it gives a room.

zebra & capiz? Love it!
